I Don't Need Any More Tenants - What Do I Do?

A full, or almost full, facility is a great problem to have and one that SpareFoot is happy to have played a role in creating! Fortunately, you can keep your SpareFoot account active but make your facility unavailable while you wait for unit availability to free up.

You can make your facility unavailable on the SpareFoot network in two ways that are shown below. With either option, we’ll add a banner to your SpareFoot listing indicating that your facility is not currently accepting new reservations on SpareFoot. Your listing will appear at the bottom of search results, similar to out-of-stock products on eCommerce sites. If your facility remains unavailable for 126 days, we’ll hide your listing from the marketplace. When you’re ready, you can make your listing available again at any time.

Limited unit availability: Switch off units

If you have limited unit availability, you can choose to switch off your units to hold them for walk-in customers. Switching off all units will make your listing unavailable on the SpareFoot network. However, you may want to consider leaving your available unit types listed on SpareFoot and simply lower your reservation window to accommodate only those renters who need to move in immediately. This can help you achieve 100% occupancy at the ideal rental rate.

No unit availability: Switch your facility off

If you have no unit availability, you can choose to make your facility unavailable on our network from your MySpareFoot account by following the instructions below. 

1. Click Features on the MySpareFoot Navigation bar.

The MySpareFoot interface will look different based on the way your account is configured. If your facility is NOT integrated with web-based storage management software (like SiteLink Web Edition, storEDGE, etc.), follow the first set of instructions. If it IS integrated, simply scroll down.

If your facility is NOT integrated with web-based storage management software

1. Click Edit facility.

2. Select No for Available for bookings on the SpareFoot network?.

3. Click Save.

If your facility IS integrated with web-based storage management software

1. Click Details.

2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select No for Make this facility available for bookings on the SpareFoot network?.

3. Click Save Changes.

If you do decide to take a break, we'll be waiting right here when you get back! To get your facility listing back up and running at any time, simply log in to your MySpareFoot account and switch your facility or units on; your facility should begin appearing in search results within 15 minutes.
