SpareFoot's flexible payment settings make it easy to configure and customize your credit card(s) so that SpareFoot payments bill exactly how you want them to.
For this article, we're going to imagine a SpareFoot client that has two storage facilities and which pay SpareFoot via credit card. There are quite a few ways this client could configure their payments to charge, but we're going to go over three examples in this article.
- TIP: Learn about the different types of payment SpareFoot accepts.
- TIP: Learn how to add and edit payment methods.
Basics to remember:
- You can add as many credit cards to your account as you have facilities. If you have one facility, you can add one credit card. If you have five facilities, you can have anywhere between one and five credit cards set up.
- You can assign a credit card to as many or as few facilities as you'd like. So one credit card can be assigned to one facility, or to two, three, etc.
- Each time we charge a credit card, you get one receipt for that payment method.
Option 1: Charge both facilities to the same credit card, receive one receipt for all charges.
This is the most common configuration. As you'll see in the screenshot below, this client added one payment method and then associated that same payment method with both facilities.

Please note: The receipt you receive will include line items showing each individual charge for both facilities, and will not include subtotals by facility. If you'd like to see your charges itemized by facility, consider option 2 below.
Option 2: Charge both facilities to the same credit card, receive one receipt for each facility.
Just add the same credit card twice. As you'll see in the screenshot below, this client added the same credit card twice to create two different payment methods. Since each payment method gets its own receipt, this client will get two charges on their credit card each month (one for each facility) and one receipt for each charge (for a total of two receipts).

Option 3: Charge each facility on their own credit card, receive one receipt for each facility.
Just add two credit cards! As you'll see in the screenshot below, this client added two payment methods and associated each payment method with one facility. Unlike Option 2, each of these payment methods is a different credit card. Since each payment method gets its own receipt, this client will get two charges on their credit card each month (one for each facility) and one receipt for each charge (for a total of two receipts).
