Integrated Accounts: Set Your Reservation Window

Marketplace

⚠️ This article is for users whose facilities are taking advantage of our free integration with storage management software (like SiteLink Web Edition, Storable Edge, etc.) For Storable Edge users, please see our Edge Help Center to set the reservation expiration. The interface looks slightly different for non-integrated facilities - click here to read those instructions.

A reservation window is the number of days in advance that you allow customers on SpareFoot to reserve units at your facility.

Sending customers your way will always be our top priority, but we also realize each facility has different unit mixes and occupancy needs. In some instances, your storage management software may allow you to set a reservation window; however, SpareFoot cannot automatically update your reservation window on your SpareFoot listing. But not to worry - with the custom reservation window feature in MySpareFoot, it’s easier than ever to adjust your SpareFoot listing based on what makes sense for you and your business.

Using the instructions below, you can customize the number of days you hold a unit for a SpareFoot customer to move in and set unit-group exceptions based on the number of available units.

Note: The default reservation window is set at 60 days if no changes are made.

Accessing your Reservation Window

  1. Login to your MySpareFoot account. Need help logging into your MySpareFoot account? Check out this article for more information.

  2. Click Features.

  3. Click Details.

  4. Scroll to the Reservation Window section.

Note: At this time, there is no way to set an account-level reservation window. If you have multiple facilities on your account, you'll need to update the reservation for each facility.

Your reservation window is based on unit group occupancy.

By default, you'll see 1 rule for all your units (0% - 100% occupied).

Select the size of your reservation window from the drop-down menu.

The options in this drop-down menu are hard-coded and are the only available options. For example, you can set a 45-day reservation window, but you cannot set a 46-day reservation window.

Add a second rule (Optional)

Just click the green "+ Add a Rule" button to create dynamic reservation windows for unit groups at your facility based on their occupancy. You can then define the percentage occupancy that would trigger the rule to change.

Here's how this works:

In the example below, two reservation windows are set. For each unit group, we calculate its occupancy (using data from your software) and set the reservation window accordingly. Here's how it would work in the example:

  • 0% - 60% - Any unit groups between 0% - 60% occupied have a reservation window of 60 days.

  • 61% - 100% - Any unit group between 61% and 99% occupied has a reservation window of 5 days.

NOTE: Your first rule will always have a longer reservation window than your second rule. This follows the premise that as occupancy goes up, the reservation window shrinks.

Add unit group overrides (optional)

Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

See your reservation window in action!

Just click over to the Units tab, and you'll see the reservation windows for each of your unit groups.

How do Reservation Windows affect my SpareFoot listing?

Customers are unable to book units for dates outside the reservation window you've specified.
